About Me
Hi there!
I’m Valeria, a Film and TV with Innovation graduate passionate about media production and an aspiring offline editor.

I have experience working across genres, scripted and unscripted and shooting and editing for commissioned work. I am confident using Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve

Central to my media production practice is a focus on storytelling and an insight-led creative process. I ensure each creative decision is informed by the vision and objectives of each project, understanding client briefs to create relevant media that resonates with the audience and creates a meaningful impact.

My trajectory
I have been in awe of the creative possibilities that editing brings to visual media since I first learned as a kid how to edit my photos in VSCO and my videos on iMovie. I would spend hours editing, colour-correcting and colour-grading thinking “I wish this was an actual career, it would be so much fun!”... Ahh, little did I know!

Turns out this passion continued and grew even stronger, so I decided to study Film and TV. My time at university was immensely valuable in expanding my theoretical knowledge of film practice, through an understanding of film movements, their approaches, references and storytelling principles, which help me critically analyse any work I produce. The practical side of my degree allowed me to familiarise with industry-standard equipment and software, as well as give me freedom to experiment and explore filmmaking and editing through my coursework.
Again, I always found myself gravitating towards the edit suite to play with montage, colour and visual effects. I found that editing was the crucial stage that made sense of everything else done in production - without it everything would just be raw footage. I found editing was not about simply putting videos together and making them look nice, I found editing has the great creative freedom, power (and responsibility!) to arrange the desired final narrative and emotion of any visual piece. I was sold. There was no other option than to dedicate myself fully to it.
